NEW!!! Bus reimbursement grant
Delaware’s Universal Recycling Grant and Low Interest Loan Program has funds to assist schools in sending students from one grade level on a field trip to Delaware Solid Waste Authority’s Environmental Education Center at 1101 Lambson Lane New Castle, DE 19709. The purpose of the grant is to help children understand how the recycling process works. The Center is located near the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) where all the single stream recyclable items in Delaware are sorted so the material can be sold and made into something new. Students will learn how this is done as well as the environmental and economic benefits of recycling.
Below is a Grant Application to reimburse any school within the state of Delaware up to $500/bus for all busses needed to send all students in one grade level. This is to defray the transportation costs associated with visiting the Center. The Grant Application needs to be submitted prior to the field trip. Please coordinate with DSWA to schedule the date(s) for the field trip. Once you have a date, please submit the Grant Application with a quote from the transportation company reflecting the costs to bus students to and from the Center to firstname.lastname@example.org.
After your field trip, please send a completed Reimbursement Request Form, along with a statement showing you’ve paid for the transportation costs to email@example.com. The Request should be submitted as soon as possible after the trip, but no later than May 31st, 2019. Once received and approved by Delaware Recycles, the request will be processed and a reimbursement issued.
